To Do Lists

Add a To Do List

  1. Tap Add New List on the home screen, then select To Do List
  1. Type in a name for your list. The icon will change to something the app thinks is relevant
  1. Tap Done on the app keyboard.
  1. Type in some tasks.
You can tap Enter after each one to move to the next line.

(The Info icon pops up next to each task as you do this. It can be used to add additional details. We’ll get to that later!)

Once you’ve added tasks, the list is ready to use – you can tap the stars to mark tasks as complete!

But let’s go ahead and add a schedule

Schedule a To Do List

Schedule this routine

Tap Schedule this list below your tasks (or choose it from the … menu at the top of the screen)

You’ll see all the scheduling options:

Schedule

Here you choose which days of the week the list will appear in the top half of the home screen. The days are selected by default – tap unwanted days to switch them off.

You can use this to have an errands checklist only show up on days you have some scheduled availability, for example.

If you want the list to be a reference type list or just not very urgent, select “Unscheduled” (or deselect all the days) and it will chill out in the “Other Lists” section until you need it.

There is no “Clear Stars” schedule on To Do lists, because you’re doing each task once and it’s done.

Only Useful Some Months of the Year

Switch this if you have a list that’s kind of seasonal and you want to keep it on hand for those celebratory seasons. Or if a list is relevant every month except one. Or you might like to use this to create themed months (eg decluttering in March)

Remind me if I haven’t started

Select and choose a time to receive a reminder notification. This will only be sent if you have not completed any of the tasks already. I reckon if you’re already working on the list it doesn’t need to give you yet another notification! You can choose from some sound effects to go with this.

Using your To Do List

From the home screen, tap into a list.

Complete a Task

Tap the empty star shape next to a task to complete the task.

Undo a Completed Task

You can tap a star again real quick to undo it if you tapped it by mistake.

Close a To Do list

When you’ve completed all the tasks in a To Do list, the coloured ring around the icon will be filled in, and a checkmark will appear next to it on the home screen.

Clear Completed tasks

Completed tasks

Completed tasks will briefly be crossed out in place, and then drop down into the Completed Tasks section.
They will stay there until you tap Clear.
The tasks will still “count” in today’s accomplishments if you clear the list.

Edit a To Do List

Tap Edit at the top of the To Do List

From here you can:

  • Tap the List icon to change the picture, and choose a new colour
  • Delete tasks
  • Drag tasks to rearrange
  • Add extra information to individual tasks by tapping the (i) icon, as below.

Add information to a task

When you add a task, an info icon will appear.
Tap this to add additional information to that task.
(It will also appear if you tap Edit)

Task Notes

Type extra information in the notes field – it will appear as a sub-heading underneath the name of the task.

Due Date

You can add a due date to a task. It will appear next to the task to remind you. There are no extra notifications for due dates on tasks at the moment, and it will be possible for your list to be scheduled to not show on a day that you have a task due.

More Options Menu

The More Options menu in the top corner of the screen offers a shortcut to the schedule, as well as some other useful things.
